I would like to have some help to make my english resume. I have tried to make it in English, but it should have some errors. Could you help me for correct them ? Thanks to use only britannic language (not USA)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am an engineer student in third year at the engineering course « ... » and I would like to make final-year work experience in urban engineering between January 25th 2011 and August 27th 2011. This work experience will give me a real work experience and will increase my knowledge in engineering.

Studding in urban engineering, I will place my competences at your disposal in several actions as in civil engineering (reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel, wood, thermal and sound isolation), water (hydraulics, drinking water, waste water) and urban development (urban development management, road network, road lightning, urban transports, waste management). During my studies, I have developed these subjects at school thanks to some projects.

I look forward to discussing the opportunity of a work experience further with you at a future interview and look forward to hearing from you.
